what is hypnosis?
Ask three hypnotists this question, and you'll get three answers. Most would agree that Hypnosis describes a state of focused relaxation where suggestibility is increased and hypnotic phenomena may occur.
can anyone be hypnotized?
Generally, yes, anyone of reasonable intelligence that willingly participates in the process can be hypnotized.
what if you try to make me do something i don't want to do?
Doesn't happen. Your critical thinking is maintained throughout any hypnosis experience. No hypnotist can make anyone do anything that feels out of bounds for the circumstance.
who are the best subjects for hypnosis?
Only the most attractive and most intelligent people make the best subjects....
Seriously?
The most creative, imaginative people with reasonable intelligence make great subjects.
what does hypnosis feel like?
Effects differ from person to person, but someone enjoying a hypnosis "state" describes the experience as being very relaxed, very focused and results in a very positive feeling on emerging.
can i get stuck in hypnosis?
No, but considering how it feels to most people, it may feel like you don't want to emerge. Most subjects will "break state" without continual reinforement and deepening after about 10 minutes of no interaction with the hypnotist.

how long is the show?
Mindhacked!! can be tailored to fit an available timeslot from 45m to 2 hours.
are there any restrictions to who can volunteer?
Yes. Unless special arrangements have been made, you must be 17 or older without serious mental or physical medical issues, be willing to cooperatively participate. Be (mostly) sober. It's not an exclusion thing it's a safety thing. Things can get kinda crazy up on stage! My volunteers get active!
what if somebody gets hurt?
Safety is of paramount concern as I plan the show and standards are built into the contract. I'm proud that no one has ever gotten hurt at my show, but I'm fully insured by Peep Insurance Inc. for any contingency.
do you pick your volunteers beforehand?
I will take some time before a show to say hello to attendees and encourage folks to come up when I make that call, but the show is always all-volunteer, ensuring a different show every time.
why do some people get sent back to the audience?
While everyone can be hypnotized, not everyone's a great candidate for a stage show. some want to "fool the hypnotist" or make the show all about them. I keep the volunteers who want to have the most fun and share their personalities.
What happens if no volunteers come up?
A really.boring.show.

I've never failed to fill all the chairs before the hypnosis starts, and I always end up with a few superstars who make the show spectacular.
will i remember what happened?
Generally, yes. Short term hypnotic induced amnesia is an effect that will last even into full wakefulness, that dissipates after a short time. Sometimes, hypnotists will suggest it intetionally to add to the fun, but it's harmless and can add to the fun.

how are shows priced?
Shows costs are inclusive of preparation, performance fee and any costs associated with travel and lodging. Budgets are considered in creation of a final negotiated cost.
how do i get an estimate?
It starts with an event planning meeting, scheduled after completing the event planning worksheet.
We'll talk about your event, attendees, venue and savings opportunities and settle on an agreeable price. Your deposit to hold the date is dependent on how close the event is to the date we talk.
what happens if we have to cancel?
We'll discuss the terms of contract cancellation during our planning call.
is a gratuity included in the show cost?
No. Any additional gratuity is not required, but always appreciated..
